3 Effective Bridal Makeup Tips for a Winter Wedding

A winter wedding makes it easier for the bride to manage her makeup. After all, there is no melting mascara, no body odor from excess sweat and certainly no smudges to ruin your lips. However, the winter season brings its own share of challenges for brides, which you need to tackle if you are going to walk the whole nine yards while it is all snowy outside. Here are 3 bridal makeup tips that would work great for a winter wedding.

Stunning red lips never go out of style

Winter wedding is the occasion for bold colors. Leave those nude shades in your makeup box and pick up a bright red lipstick. Be sure to choose one containing beeswax and not Vaseline. Beeswax keeps your lips moisturized for long periods of time and makes that special kiss in the end all the more enjoyable for both you and your partner. Also, feel free to team it up with a lip liner, which will make your lipstick last longer.

Be sure to use the right base makeup

Winter is the time for dry skin. So, make sure you use the right base makeup for the D-day. Use a hydrating primer for best results, as these will keep your skin soft and smooth for the duration of the wedding. Also, go for powder-based foundations and opt for silicone based ones for an extra smooth finish. Steer clear of liquid foundations as they will not work well in the freezing temperature.

Choose waterproof eyeliner and mascara

The wedding is an emotionally charged event. You never know when a few teardrops may sneak out. To avoid reaching for tissues in the middle of the wedding, go for waterproof mascara. Also use eyeliner in a shade that goes well with your eyes. If you have large eyes, then a brown eyeliner can work well. However, if you have small eyes, then go for dark blue or white eyeliner to make your eyes look bigger. Once again, avoid Vaseline-based eyeliners as they can dry out the skin around your eyes.

Finally, take care of yourself in the days leading up to the wedding. Drink plenty of water to prevent dehydration during winter. Be sure to exfoliate and moisturize your skin regularly. That will remove dry skin  to make it glow with health. That will ensure you look your best on one of the most important days of your life.

Fantastic Service

"I have been going to Brass Scissors for 10+ years and have always been treated great. The turnover at times has been greater than others, but they have always had excellent staff. New building is fantastic and love the staff in there."
